A little bit of history...

The company was established by Jiri Kotmel on 1st September 1992, at that time it was called M&J. Since the very beginning the company has specialized in the production of original wooden toys without the use of varnish.

At the beginning the production halls were situated in rented premises in Kralupy, then in Nelahozeves, and eventually back in Kralupy; the first staff comprised 5 full-time and several part-time workers. With the growing number of customers the range of produced toys developed and improved – mainly the toys made of soft wood. Also the machinery had spread.

After the purchase of the house No. 29 in Chvateruby at the end of 1993 the company acquired its own production area. The bulding had undergone a large-scale reconstruction, new production halls, store rooms and an office had been built; the machinery and technology had been modernized, most of the toys produced at that time are made of semi-hard and hard wood, colours and varnishes are used as well. The number of employees has settled at 16 experienced full-time workers, a part of who work at their homes assembling the toys.

At the beginning of 1998 the name of the company changed as well – to Jiri Kotmel – HRAKO

The complete production comes from the production halls in Chvateruby, No. 29.

The range of products:

• wooden toys and decorations by our original design, these products are continuously adapted to the needs of the market
• made-to-order production, i.e. special products for promotional purposes, special wooden toys, untypical custom-made products

Our customers are mainly wholesalers and large trade networks, retailers being a minor part of our business partners. A large share of our toy production is exported to foreign markets.

The terms of delivery and payment are tailored for each individual order. We are striving to meet the client´s needs to the maximum extent, as a happy customer is our main goal. We are prepared to deliver the products ourselves, or by means of postal service, railway, or any other transportation company, within the Czech Republic or abroad.
